This article glimpses on science of Lexicography and the tradition of Punjabi Lexicography. For the Sequence of article and reliability of reader it is divided in four parts. Firstly it discusses boundaries of lexicography. In second part it provides some information about ancient attempts of Punjabi Lexicography.   After it the third part begins with information of Punjabi Lexicography of medieval centuries. At the end the fourth part of this article gives some names of prominent dictionaries of colonial era.
