"Kahani ikk Maa Di" is Zahid Hassan's fifth novel in which he chose a female lead and threw light on the socio-cultural structure of our society towards a widow. She apparently owns everything a woman in our society can aspire to i.e. lands, wealth and impressive looks but the only thing she lacks is the protection of a man and the security he provides. It also throws light on the women's strong character which as a mother they have to portray in the absence of her spouse. This paper intends to study this societal phenomena in depth. It aims to probe into gender discrimination and its effects at larg
