Abstract
Afzal Ahsan Randhawa's name is eminent in Punjabi Literature and Language. He was a great poet, astute novelist, incredible story writer and austere translator. His writings set an example for new authors. By profession he was a lawyer and politician but he chose Punjabi to express his thoughts and stayed an activist for its growth. Suraj Grehan is his third novel which he calls an autobiographyical tale. Due to its unique creativity and narrative it is an important contribution to Punjabi novel. The writer has narrated the story of this novel through the letters of two characters Eva and Sahibaan. It throws light on the differences between Pakistan and Switzerland on societal, religious and political grounds. The novel depicts two lovers from different civilizations and narrates their love for each other regardless of the restrictions of borders and society. This article aims to critically analyze the novel Suraj Grehan with its language and different aspects which make it a masterpiece of its time.
