Abstract
Sajjad Haider was a great dramatist, astute novelist, captivating short story writer and well known translator. He was at home in Punjabi, Urdu and English language. He was director programmes in Radio Pakistan, wrote a book where he described broadcast machinery and its functions. His major work includes four collections of Punjabi dramas in which he dealt with grim realities and facts of society. His characterisation doesn't focus merely on appearances rather emphasizes on overall development. This paper aims to study one of his collections of dramas entitled "Sooraj Mukhi" which consists of 9 dramas. The author of this research article intends to read between the lines to explore its semantic and pragmatic importance.
