The state of Jammu and Kashmir is the most beautiful region in the world. Kashmir was ruled by Mughals, Afghans, Sikhs and Dogras respectively. Kashmir have been very unluckly due to foreign rulers. Kashmiri Muslims were persecuted during Sikh and Dogra period. Due to which they left Kashmir and was exiled to India and Punjab. They people of the Punjab were also associated with these Kashmiris in many respect and love them with simpithy. These exiled Kashmiris achieved their high position in various cities in Punjab. Geographically, regiously, culturely Kashmir and Punjab were interconnected. During Dogra period there was a shortage of educated people in Kashmir. Due to which educated Punjabis started turning toward Kashmir and these Punjabi also introduced their culture and languages in Kashmir. During Dogra rule, when Muslims were religiously exploited, a movement started not only in Kashmir but across punjab. Muslim leaders not only in India but also all over the Punjab sided with the oppressed Kashmiris and ignited the Kashmir independence. So we can say that in Kashmir independence movement a large share was of the Muslims of Punjab.
